Raining again. Drove this morning to Pic-St-Loup outside Montpellier. Winemaker is Swiss, a former architect, and one of our favorite producers. Fabulous wines made of syrah, grenache, and old carignan - some exciting new selections. Out to lunch nearby with the winemaker, had cassoulet and magret de canard with some older vintages - fromage blanc with honey for dessert. After a tour through the vineyards, a long drive to Bourg-St-Andéol for tasting with another favorite producer - perhaps some older vintages to follow. Staying tonight and the rest of our trip in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Delighted by some recent press for the store - more familiar producers tomorrow.
